        Vash the stampede has a look of a mercenary kind of guy. However, as you see how he acts you notice that he is unable to kill. The closest Vash came to kill was in Episode 13 "Diablo" Diablo a mercenary jailed for 20 years kills a bunch of people, Vash respects life overall and gos to the edge of killing Diablo for his actions. If he had done that, then his own belief would be contradicted by himself. He struggle with ferocity with his heart and mind. Deciding the faith of Diablo. But why he forgave Diablo? That is, because of  his mentor as a child thought him the importance of life. " I'll save them both" (Trigun ep 17) this action occurs when Vash as a child tries to save a butterfly, which is being hunted by a spider. Nevertheless, Knives, his brother, kills the spider and saves the butterfly. But, the act seems cruel to Vash and he is in (trigun pic)

disagreement to Knives view. Knives in a witty and intellectual manner gives a rational explanation; that is, if the spider does not eat the butterfly then the spider will die. (ep 17). --In reality this is correct, however, he applied the same faction to humans, in other words he believed that he was God itself. Here it all begins, the struggle between life and death, destiny; brother against brother.
